1963
26' Gage-Hacker Twin Cockpit Forward Special Runabout
|
 |
|
| MBBW
completed a total restoration of this rare Gage-Hacker 26' Runabout, one
of four that were built and perhaps the only surviving example. The
boat was designed by famed boat architect John Hacker and was built by
Gage Marine of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, thus the name Gage-Hacker.
MBBW's restoration was extensive including replaced
hull planks, refastened hull sides, all new deck frames and planking, new
transom, custom bird’s eye maple, mahogany and stainless dash, custom
restored gauges, new interior with MBBW premium marine leather in green
and yellow, rebuilt 8.2 liter Cadillac Eldorado engine marine conversion,
new stain and show varnish, custom rechromed hardware. This boat
performs great and is fast!

The boat had it's maiden launching at Lake
Geneva, Wisconsin at the 2005 Wooden Boat Show where its owner saw the boat in its
completed state for the first time. The boat went on a two hour tour of
the lake including a visit to Gage Marine where Bill Gage Jr. and the wife
of the late Bill Gage Sr. examined the boat and were very pleased.
