1970 Chris Craft
XK-19 project boat -
Here is a great opportunity to own an Chris Craft XK-19 vintage
fiberglass speedboat. Hull number ORCZ 19 0006 V, the sixth boat of
the 55 made in the first year of production, a total of 276 were produced
in the total production of the model from 1970 to 1974. This is
a project boat that is partially restored. Most of the major work is
already done. The hull has been completely rebuilt with additional
frames and fiberglass added for strength and the engine stringers have
been replaced. All work was done at Macatawa Bay Boat Works. The
boat comes with the original Chris Craft / Corvette 350FLV and Chris Craft
/ Volvo-Penta outdrive that could be rebuilt. It also has the
original seats, gauges, steering wheel and most deck hardware.
The boat needs hull paint, interior upholstery, engine and mechanical
systems finished, hardware rechromed. Comes with an older tandem
axle trailer that fits the boat well.
Originally configured as an inboard / outboard, the opening in the
transom for the outdrive has been glassed over to give the option of
installing a newer I/O unit or reconfigure to a V-drive inboard
engine. We can finish the project for you with the power of
your choice and the color of of your choice or you can finish the project yourself.
We have restored a very similar boat to this, a preceding model called
the Chris Craft Commander 19 Super Sport. Click here to see
photo of this boat and how beautiful this design is in the water.
These vintage fiberglass boats or "fiberglassics" are
increasing in value and nice XK-19's are getting harder to find.
Here is one that have been started and done right.
