1959 Chris-Craft Continental - with original Chris Craft
283 V-8 engine. Recent Renovations include:
The fuel tank has been relined and a new fuel gauge
mechanism has been installed, the rudder has been repacked, a new
"old stock" fuel pump is in place, the alternator is new, the
starter is new, the carburetor has been rebuilt, a Perko switch for the
electrical has been installed, a through hull fitting for the Lovett
bilge pump has been installed, the chrome on the bow cleats/chocks, the
tail fin trim, the top brackets, the foot/step plates, and the
windshield brackets has all been redone. In 2004 the
original bottom was sanded, the bedding compound was replaced, and
it was repainted with copper-bronze paint; the bow deck was refinished
in the Spring of 2005, and all of the white paint has been redone in the
past 3 years. the boat was in the water and pulling water skiers
and tubers last summer. Owner is moving overseas and will not have
the time to continue to care for this watercraft.
The boat needs some work, the most significant being
engine work as last season the engine seized up and needs to be rebuilt. There is some other
cosmetic work the could be done to make the boat a show winner such as
interior work, paint and varnish work, but if the engine were repaired, the boat is
usable as is. The owner states the boat
is solid. This could be a fun project for the first time wooden boat
owner.
Sorry, this boat has SOLD!
