1972 Chris Craft XK-22 for sale
This boat was delivered new to Sayre Brothers
Marine in Buckeye Lake, OH, one of the earliest Chris-Craft dealers in
the country, in 1972. The original owner was a car dealer in
nearby Newark, OH. As a child, the current owner saw the
boat on the showroom floor in 1972, and followed it through several
owners on Buckeye Lake until he had the chance to buy it as an adult
in 1994 from then current owner Dave Thomas, founder of Wendy's.
The current owner brought the boat to Saugatuck,
Michigan in 2010 where it has been used sparingly each Summer on Lake
Michigan, and always maintained by Macatawa Bay Boat Works in Saugatuck.
From 1994 through 2018, the boat was in excellent original condition, however, the current owner commissioned a full restoration in 2018 from M/E Yacht Restoration in Holland, MI, where they stripped, reconditioned, and painted the hull. Engine and outdrive work was done by MBBW, including a new fuel tank. Upholstery, gauges, windshield, and all hardware are original (new sunpad was custom made to original spec with NOS fabric). The cockpit floor is covered in new Infinity woven snap in carpet, and the boat comes with the original cockpit cover as well as a new waterproof custom topside cover.
The boat comes with brochures, original hull
card, and. misc records and parts.
Currently located at owner's storage building in Saugatuck, Michigan. Shown by appointment. This boat is ready to go and price is $35,900.
